Questions

Before you book, you might ask

How does physiotherapy relate to menopause?

Hormonal changes can affect the pelvic floor, bladder control, muscle strength and joints. Physiotherapy uses assessment and targeted exercise to support your strength and mobility.

I have not exercised for years. Can I still start?

Yes. Your programme starts from where you are now and builds gradually. Tell us about any other health conditions at your assessment.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Usually not: you can book directly. If you plan to claim on medical insurance, some policies need a doctor’s referral, so check with your insurer first.

How long is the first assessment, and what should I bring?

About 60 minutes. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring any relevant medical reports or scans.
