Questions

Before you book, you might ask

Can I have physiotherapy while pregnant?

Yes. The assessment and exercises are adjusted to how far along you are and how you feel, avoiding positions that do not suit pregnancy. If your obstetrician has given you specific advice, let us know when you book.

How soon after birth can I start?

Gentle breathing and pelvic floor exercises can usually start in the early weeks. A fuller assessment usually happens from about 6 weeks, after your postnatal check; after a caesarean or complications, we follow your doctor’s advice.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Usually not: you can book directly. If you plan to claim on medical insurance, some policies need a doctor’s referral, so check with your insurer first.

How long is the first assessment, and what should I bring?

About 60 minutes. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring any relevant medical reports or scans.
